On May 8th, Chief Contributor of New Analects of Confucius, President of Pacific Business School, Board Chairman of Susun Group Yan Jiehe attended the grand opening of the 5th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum, co-hosted by China International Contractors Association and Macao Economic Services.
The Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region Cui Sai On, Assistant Minister of Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Xiangchen, the Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region Chouhong, and more than 40 ministers from countries and regions in Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America co-opened this year’s forum. At the opening ceremony, Cui Sai On and the Chairman of the China International Contractors Association Diao Chunhe, and Secretary of Macao Economic Services Su Tianping gave their welcome speech separately on behalf of the host. Distinguished guests from oversea government organs, manufacturers, and academic circles gave their theme speech around this year’s theme “Infrastructure Connectivity Provides New Impetuses for International Cooperation.”
On the day of the opening ceremony, President Yan Jiehe had a warm and friendly talk with the minister of Macedonia's ministry of transportation and communications Mile Janakieski. They had a close conversation about the infrastructure and investment programs in Macedonia. Macedonia showed great craving for the cooperation on the programs with Pacific Construction, hoping that President Yan Jiehe would take a field trip to Macedonia one day. President Yan Jiehe expressed his thoughts that Pacific Construction has always maintained the idea of “Friendship First, Business Second” and would put out best effort in helping Macedonia, hoping that two parties will cooperate in a good start. After the talk, President Yan Jiehe presented the New Analects of Confucius, also known as the New Sinology of the orient, to Macedonia.
On the same day, President Yan Jiehe was interviewed by both International Business Daily, published by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, and Macao Convention and Exhibition Economy Journal. And he had meetings with the president of Global China Group Yang Tianju and the president of Guangxi Liugong Machinery co., LTD Zeng Guang’an, discussing the theme of the forum along with the future cooperation.
Note: The International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum, founded in 2010 by China International Contractors Association with the approval by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, is an international forum with the theme of infrastructure investment and construction. So far, it has been held successfully first in Beijing and then in Macao for four years. The 5th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum will last two days in Macao from May 8th 2014 to May 9th.
