New Analects


The collection New Analects crystallizes Yan Jiehe’s innovative thinking over the past three decades and provides a contemporary interpretation of classical Chinese philosophy in the context of China’s market economy. Based on improvements from its draft and trial versions, the collection consists of three volumes, namely, 1) Growing: Learning, Thinking and Practising; 2) Maturity: Modesty, Tenacity and Composure; 3) Success: Talent, Virtue and Vision.


Huatuo CEO Forum for Chinese and Foreign Political and Business Leaders
On February 8, 2011, Yan Jiehe organized the Chinese SME Leaders Forum in New York, attended by several hundred Chinese entrepreneurs, who had dialogues with American political, business and academic leaders and visited Washington, West Point, Boston, and Harvard University. In November, 2011 and November, 2012, the 2nd and 3rd Huatuo CEO Forum were held respectively in Shanghai International Convention Center, attracting the attendance of many international leaders in politics and business, such as former U.S. President Bill Clinton, former Australian Prime Minister John Howard, former Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern, Nobel Prize winner Michael Phelps, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Father of the Euro and Nobel Laureate Robert Mundell and Central Bank Governor of the Year for Europe Philipp Hildebrand. The forum is so far the highest level non-governmental forum ever held in China.


Enriching People and Thanksgiving Forum
Initiated by Mr. Yan Jiehe, Enriching People and Thanksgiving Forum is aimed at advocating people from all walks of life to be grateful so as to reward our great country by using the power of private economy.
Since 2010, “Enriching People and Thanksgiving Forum” has been held in Guang’an—hometown of Deng Xiaoping, Shenzhen—frontier of reform and opening-up policy, and Huai’an—hometown of Zhou Enlai successively for three times. Elites from political, business and academic circles and entrepreneurs that amount to some 10,000 people attended the forum to speak out the strong voice of “be grateful to the times, our motherland and the opening-up-policy”.


Exploring China’s Charm City with Sustainable Development Potential
 
Initiated by Mr. Yan Jiehe, co-hosted by China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE), China Institute for Urban Development, Huatuo CEO Organizing Committee and other authoritative research institutes, the large-scale public benefit campaign­—Exploring China’s Charm City with Sustainable Development Potential takes the developing cities as the main subject, draws on the unique perspectives of the entrepreneurs that are gained throughout the process of planning and constructing cities by themselves. The campaign pays close attention to the small and middle sized cities so as to elect 10 cities that meet each of the five requirements—“the best governmental administration”,” the most beautiful environment, “the best growing atmosphere”, “the optimal credit surrounding”, and “the most promising economic circumstances”.
The 1st Exploring China’s Charm City with Sustainable Development Potential campaign will be grandly held in Guangzhou, July 25th 2014.Chinese and foreign political and business leaders presented the award for those elected cities. 

 
Huatuo CEO Forum Individuality Scholarship

In November 2011, Yan Jiehe invested 1 billion Yuan to set up Huatuo CEO Forum Individuality Scholarship to promote social respect for individuality. In 2012, the scholarship was awarded in five pilot cities of Shijiazhuang, Guiyang, Lanzhou, Huainan and Guixi. The scholarship was further expanded to cover 26 cities in 2013 and will cover 100 cities in 2015. The individuality-oriented education approach is expected to turn out graduates who will soar high in their future careers and contribute to national prosperity.

 
Production of TV Documentary Series on China’s Private Sector Development

In 2012, Yan partnered up with CCTV to launch over the next three years a grand trio of TV documentary series depicting touching stories in the struggling yet legendary development of China’s private sector over the past decades. The soul-stirring historical episodes, as the vicissitudes of Yan’s business life have shown, confront untold pains and sparkle with wisdom and glory.
